Aebi Schmidt Group is seeking a Field Service Technician II for nationwide installations, diagnostics, and maintenance. The role requires lifting, travel, and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

You'll work independently in the field, troubleshoot complex issues, document activities, and mentor junior staff while upholding safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2 years hands-on field service experience in manufacturing or automotive work.
  • Proficient with electrical diagnostics and tool usage.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, inspection, repair and preventative maintenance of products nationwide.
  • Handle wiring harness diagnostics and cargo/bulkhead installations per specs.
  • Troubleshoot field issues with minimal supervision.
  • Interact professionally with customers and document service activities.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and parts teams to complete jobs.
  • Submit daily hours, repairs, and downtime reports.
  • Mentor junior technicians during on-the-job training.

Field Service Technician | Landisville, PA

Regular Employee | Hourly Non-Exempt | $28.00 - 30.00

What you'll do:

SUMMARY: The Field Service Technician II is an intermediate-level role responsible for independently performing installations, diagnostics, and repairs of company products across the U.S. Additional responsibilities include ensuring safety, training support, managing parts inventory and expenses, maintaining work area cleanliness, and delivering quality service with professional customer interaction. This role expands on foundational knowledge to handle more complex tasks with efficiency and accuracy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Willing and able to be dispatched to a remote job assignment for extended periods of time (multiple weeks).
  • Willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions and work positions.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift as needed and weekends with minimum notice.
  • Provide on-site technical installation, inspection, repair and preventative maintenance of products for customers throughout the United States.
  • Independently complete tasks such as wiring harness diagnostics, cargo/bulkhead installations, and roof framing per technical specifications.
  • Perform quality checks and troubleshoot common issues in the field without supervision.
  • Engage professionally with customers to explain repairs and service requirements.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, parts departments, and other technicians to ensure job completion.
  • Submit daily reports on hours worked, vehicle repairs, and downtime.
  • Ensure accuracy in tool use reporting and maintain inventory of parts and equipment.
  • Assist and mentor Field Service Technician I employees during on-the-job field training.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel in company vehicle to remote, including customers' jobsites to perform maintenance and installation of new equipment to ensure top product performance.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties associated with the locating and reserving of appropriate travel and lodging accommodations which conform to company policies and allow for job schedule attainment.
  • Understand and uphold Quality Assurance standards.
What you need to be successful:
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Intermediate troubleshooting skills, proficiency in hand/power tools, electrical diagnostics, and print reading.
  • 2 years of hands‑on experience in field service, industrial/manufacturing or technical/trade school or automotive work.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record and pass travel readiness requirements (e.g., willingness to travel for extended periods).
  • Use Multimeter.
  • Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, travel extensively, and troubleshoot in remote environments.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Able to lift 50 - 100 lbs.
  • Preferred 12‑volt electrical experience.
