Job summary

On Point Staffing Group in New York City is seeking a Field (Service, Repair & Sales) Technician to support our growing fire extinguisher business. You will stock, test, refill, and service extinguishers, while representing the company in the field.

No prior extinguisher service experience is required; training will be provided for the right individuals. A strong customer-service attitude and ability to upsell is valued, with quarterly bonus potential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire extinguisher service, mechanical work, or a related field preferred.
• Technical/Construction experience with a strong customer service / sales mindset and ability to represent the company as an industry expert.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Basic mechanical skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Stock, refill, and recharge fire extinguishers according to industry standards.
• Provide client with guidance and industry expertise to up-sell in a professional manner.
• Ability to be the industry expert to maintain existing business and perhaps obtain additional business.
• Test and inspect fire extinguishers to ensure functionality and compliance.
• Maintain an organized and well-stocked shop inventory.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on fire extinguishers.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations at all times.

About the Role

This role is essential in ensuring that fire extinguishers are properly stocked, refilled, and tested for safety and compliance. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and is eager to contribute to fire safety. And will be our client representative in the field and incentivized to up-sell to your clients. Fire extinguisher service experience not required. For the right individuals, this will be trained!
