PURVIS Systems in New York City is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, repair, and maintain video surveillance and access control systems across multiple sites. You will troubleshoot to the device level and perform routine software/hardware updates and preventive maintenance.

The role requires hands-on skills with tools and cabling, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift and climb. You will join a team focused on reliable systems and customer service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain video surveillance and access control systems and peripherals.

• Update and close daily logs and tickets.
• Travel across NYC to install, repair and maintain equipment.

PURVIS Systems is a technology solutions partner that develops, implements and maintains mission-critical solutions for federal and local government agencies.

PURVIS Systems has an opening for a Field Service Technician. We are looking for a tech-minded individual to be responsible for providing installation, technical maintenance and repair of video surveillance systems (cameras and peripherals) and access control systems (card readers, intercoms and peripherals). The Field Service Technician is part of a team that provides critical operations and reports to various work sites throughout New York City.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

• Installation, repair and maintenance of all aspects of video surveillance and access control systems and peripherals
• Must be able to troubleshoot video surveillance and access control systems to the device level
• Install and configure new software and/or hardware, as required
• Perform preventive maintenance such as system updates, firmware upgrades, clean cameras, servers, switches, UPSs
• Update, maintain and close daily operation logs and work tickets
• Travel through the New York City boroughs to install, repair and maintain equipment at various locations
• Must be able to use various hand tools and equipment for installation and repair such multimeter, drill, etc
• Must be able to run various types of cabling

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years work-related experience
• Must be familiar with all aspects of cameras
• Knowledge of simple networking and network cabling; and operating systems (Windows 10/11, etc.)
• Valid driver's license
• Able to use various hand tools and electronic test equipment
• Some heaving lifting from time-to-time is required
• Position requires climbing and using all types of ladders
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• No sponsorship is available
