Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Field Services Technician in Texas to support on-site field projects with safety-driven execution and hands-on clean-up work.

You will travel to various sites, assist with tank cleanings, wastewater systems, and mold decon, and may be exposed to outdoor conditions. A high school diploma and willingness to wear respirators are required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
• Prepares necessary supplies, tools, and other equipment for transport to worksite.
• Cleans and scrapes the inside, and assists with the removal of, underground chemical storage tanks; prepares waste for proper disposal.
• Provides demolition labor of contaminated buildings and land sites; operates excavation and filter press equipment.
• Operates small hand tools and provides other construction-related assistance during projects.
• Decontaminates Company equipment and tools.
• Loads, unloads and samples drums; responds to emergency spills as needed.
• Maintains the ability to travel up to 50% of the time to project sites.
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Job description

Starting Pay: Up to $22/hr depending on experience (Lots of opportunities for raises and advancement)

Work Schedule: Start typically between 5a - 7a until site is finished - Mon - Friday + OT (50/hrs per week typically)

• Looking for someone that is willing to work hard and with waste cleanup projects (both haz and nonhaz)
• If they have environmental experience they will look at that as well.

Managers Notes:

• They have a team of 6-8 but it's down to 4 currently and need to add 2 more
• They mainly work inside facilities but do work outside on occasion
• Will need to wear a respirator at times and may need to shave accordingly
• Alot of what they do can be considered cleaning in nature
• They would come to the warehouse each morning and then ride together to the work sites in company vehicle

Field Services Technician

As a Field Services Technician you will be responsible for providing field work support on site-specific jobs to meet the goals of the project in a safe and conscientious manner while generating value and satisfaction to internal and external customers.

Location/Schedule:

The position would report to the Field Office and then be dispatched out to projects in the region during the day. Report back to the office at the end of the day.

Education

- High-school diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience

• Valid Driver’s License (preferred)
• *individuals must be clean shaven at all times in order to don a respirator for protection.

Preferred Field Services Technician Skills:

Uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Above average comprehension skills to understand instructions and safety rules both verbal and written.
• Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

• Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
