Job summary

GeoSurfaces Southeast, a TenCate company, seeks a Field Service Technician – Athletic Surfaces to support turf maintenance, repairs, and installations across NC/SC with occasional travel to TN/VA/GA/FL. Base office Mooresville, NC; travel required regionally.

Hands-on outdoor role emphasizing problem solving, teamwork, and safety. The ideal candidate will have turf experience, strong mechanical skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, working in varied weather

Qualifications

• Previous experience with synthetic turf maintenance, repairs, or installation.
• Experience with athletic surfaces, running tracks, construction, landscaping, or related hands-on trade.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform synthetic turf inspections, maintenance, and repairs at athletic facilities and other customer locations.
• Complete repair and installation tasks, including cutting and removing existing turf, preparing and cleaning surfaces, precisely cutting and placing replacement turf, applying adhesive, adding infill, brushing turf, and completing jobsite cleanup.
• Perform minor running track maintenance and repairs, as assigned.
• Assist turf installation crews when maintenance and repair work is limited, including site preparation, material handling, installation support, cleanup, and other duties needed to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Assist with the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of tools and equipment.

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

GeoSurfaces Southeast, a TenCate company, is seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined Field Service Technician – Athletic Surfaces to support synthetic turf maintenance, repair, and installation projects throughout the region. Based out of the Mooresville, North Carolina office, this position will travel primarily throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, with occasional travel into Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida.

This is a hands-on field role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and contributing as part of a team. When service and repair activity is limited, the technician will assist turf installation crews with active projects and other field-based operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Perform synthetic turf inspections, maintenance, and repairs at athletic facilities and other customer locations.

Complete repair and installation tasks, including cutting and removing existing turf, preparing and cleaning surfaces, precisely cutting and placing replacement turf, applying adhesive, adding infill, brushing turf, and completing jobsite cleanup.

Perform minor running track maintenance and repairs, as assigned.

Assist turf installation crews when maintenance and repair work is limited, including site preparation, material handling, installation support, cleanup, and other duties needed to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Assist with the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of tools and equipment.

Travel to project and service locations primarily throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, with occasional travel to Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida.

Communicate job progress, service findings, material needs, and potential issues to the Vice President of Operations and appropriate project team members.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company safety standards and jobsite requirements.

Support additional field, warehouse, or operational responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with synthetic turf, including maintenance, repairs, or installation, is required.

Experience with athletic surfaces, running tracks, construction, landscaping, flooring, or a related hands-on trade is preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.

Ability to safely operate skill saws, reciprocating saws, drills, turf brushes, carpet blades, and other small tools.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time effectively while meeting project timelines.

Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a field and installation team.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical and Work Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Ability to perform regular physical labor, including lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and working in active construction environments for extended periods.

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.

Ability to travel regionally, including occasional overnight travel, based on project and service needs.

Ability to work occasional Saturdays and extended hours when required by project schedules, weather, or customer needs.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings.
