Job summary

Baseline is seeking a Field Service Technician to inspect and repair industrial natural gas generators at customer sites across the Midland region. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose electrical and fuel system issues, and ensure equipment runs reliably between visits.

You must be comfortable traveling, working nights and weekends as needed, and maintaining a safety-first culture. The role requires hands-on technical skills, own tools, and the ability to communicate clearly with

• Background in electrical/generator troubleshooting or related trade school.
• Ability to pass background and drug screen.
• Willingness to travel to well sites and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial natural gas generators at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and fuel system components.
• Mobilize/demobilize generators; drive to customer locations and start up equipment as needed.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and comply with all safety standards.
• Respond to call-outs 24/7 and coordinate with customers and site staff.

Job description

Overview and PurposeAre you an experienced technical guru that can repair anything? Do you prefer working independently in a field environment where success depends on you? Do you plan out your work and think through important details before you start your work?The Field Service Technician position exists to oversee and maintain power generation equipment on rent with customers in a designated region. This person will be responsible for maximizing equipment run time by performing maintenance as needed and ensuring that all equipment is always in proper working condition.ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance on industrial natural gas generators on customer locations. Basic maintenance items include:Monthly oil change, spark plug change, oil and air filtersOverhead valve adjustmentsChecking batteriesWashing of radiatorsLoad bank testingBasic repair and maintenance of the following engine and electrical system components:Natural Gas Engine fuel systemsCooling systemsAir injection systems (turbos, manifolds, etc.)Generator control panel troubleshootingGenerator ends: diagnose 480V electrical output, check diodes, replace/tune automatic voltage regulatorsMaintain fit-for-duty status for each shiftRegularly drive a company vehicle to visit customer sitesMaintain a Safety-first culture that always ensures the protection and safety of Baseline employees and customers. This can include but is not limited to: attending customer safety meetings, auditing Field Service safety practices, frequently verifying that all work meets Baseline and customer standards, etc.Conduct work in accordance with company, customer, and industry safety standards to maintain an accident-free workplaceMobilization and demobilization of generators to and from well sites and be present to perform all startup functions: Tying in electrical cabling, fuel lines, and synchronizing if requiredRespond to call outs/alarms on a 24/7 basis while working or on call.
