Job summary

Baseline Energy Services in Tenaha, TX seeks a Field Service Technician to oversee and maintain power generation equipment on rent with customers in a designated region. You will maximize run time by performing maintenance and ensuring equipment is in proper working condition.

You will perform preventative maintenance on natural gas generators, diagnose and repair electrical and engine systems, travel to customer sites, and work in a safety-first culture with potential night/weekend calls.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Pass a background and drug screen.
• Experience in electrical/generator troubleshooting and repair.
• Engine overhaul experience.
• Own hand tools required; company provides specialty tools.
• Willing to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial natural gas generators at customer locations, including monthly oil changes, spark plug changes, oil/air filter changes, and radiator washing.
• Diagnose and repair engine and electrical system components (fuel systems, cooling, air injection, generator control panels, 480V output, diodes, AVR tuning).
• Maintain fit-for-duty status for each shift and regularly visit customer sites in a company vehicle.
• Uphold safety standards and participate in customer safety meetings; ensure compliance with Baseline and customer requirements.
• Assist other regions with repairs and special projects; mobilize/demobilize generators as needed; respond to callouts 24/7.

The Field Service Technician position exists to oversee and maintain power generation equipment on rent with customers in a designated region. This person will be responsible for maximizing equipment run time by performing maintenance as needed and ensuring that all equipment is always in proper working condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial natural gas generators on customer locations. Basic maintenance items include:
  • Monthly oil change, spark plug change, oil and air filters
  • Overhead valve adjustments
  • Checking batteries
  • Washing of radiators
  • Load bank testing
• Basic repair and maintenance of the following engine and electrical system components:
  • Natural Gas Engine fuel systems
  • Cooling systems
  • Air injection systems (turbos, manifolds, etc.)
  • Generator control panel troubleshooting
  • Generator ends: diagnose 480V electrical output, check diodes, replace/tune automatic voltage regulators
• Maintain fit-for-duty status for each shift
• Regularly drive a company vehicle to visit customer sites
• Maintain a Safety-first culture that always ensures the protection and safety of Baseline employees and customers. This can include but is not limited to: attending customer safety meetings, auditing Field Service safety practices, frequently verifying that all work meets Baseline and customer standards, etc.
• Conduct work in accordance with company, customer, and industry safety standards to maintain an accident-free workplace
• Mobilization and demobilization of generators to and from well sites and be present to perform all startup functions: Tying in electrical cabling, fuel lines, and synchronizing if required
• Respond to call outs/alarms on a 24/7 basis while working or on call. Please note, work may include night time and weekend call outs
• Communicate professionally, efficiently, and frequently with customers (production foreman, pumpers, etc.) when issues arise
• Maintain sufficient parts inventory to meet planned and unplanned inventory needs
• Hookup and maintenance of natural gas, diesel, and propane fuel systems at well sites
• Assist other operating regions with repairs as needed, including travel to other regions on occasion to help with special projects or meet company repair goals

Qualifications
