Assist in the performance of start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved.* Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.* Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.* Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment.* Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology.* Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours.* Perform related duties as assigned.* Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities**Minimum Qualifications**: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:* 3-5 years of diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.* Valid driver’s license with good driving record* Ability to obtain DOT Medical card* Commercial Driver License B – Preferred* If applicable-Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)* Diagnosing basic mechanical problems* Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance.* Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring devices* General DC electric and circuit testing skills* General diesel engine component location and identification* Safety practices and procedures* Basic mechanical aptitude* Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues--preferred.* Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed.* Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing.
