Job summary

Epiroc USA LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and install parts on Epiroc equipment for mining and construction customers, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

The role requires travel, safety‑sensitive work, and adherence to training and certification requirements. The position operates within the PSD Division and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Epiroc equipment.
  • Previous work experience demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read basic hydraulic and 24‑volt schematics.
  • Own hand tools and willingness to expand personal inventory by purchasing additional tools as required.
  • Complete TL1 and TL2 training and Safe Start Modules 1‑5 within the first year of employment.
  • Maintain required U.S. Department of Labor Mine, Safety & Health Administration training certificates, or complete the required training program(s) by the manager’s date.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; CDL if operating heavy vehicles.
  • Travel required.

Field Service Technician – Epiroc

At Epiroc USA LLC, the Parts and Services (PSD) Division provides a broad range of services to maximize customers’ productivity. As a Field Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, and install parts on a variety of Epiroc equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance for our mining and construction customers.

Work Environment & Safety

The role requires regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. The position may involve high or precarious places, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities. This position is considered Safety Sensitive.

Key Responsibilities
Level 1
  • Maintain personal tool inventory, review and update quarterly to comply with calibration and tool replacement protocols.
  • Complete daily work assignments from customers or supervisors.
  • Use basic analytical skills to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems by phone or on site.
  • Understand company warranty policy and initiate warranty claim reports in the field.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental requirements, promoting proper safety procedures and use of PPE.
  • Maintain courteous and professional demeanor and communication with customers and internal staff.
Level 2
  • Provide warranty support, evaluate and validate claims, discuss issues with Product Company, and submit service reports.
  • Communicate service activities to the Customer and Service Manager through daily reports and relevant forms, email, and telephone.
  • Support varied activities with simultaneous projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Level 3
  • Develop customized solutions for specific customer issues using specialized expertise and ingenuity.
  • Rebuild complete components to OEM specifications in the service shop.
  • Perform essential functions on various equipment types supporting all business line areas.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for other service technicians, supporting their training and development.
Requirements
Level 1
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Epiroc equipment.
  • Previous work experience demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude, good work ethic, and ability to read basic hydraulic and 24‑volt schematics.
  • Own hand tools and willingness to expand personal inventory by purchasing additional tools as required.
  • Complete TL1 and TL2 training and Safe Start Modules 1‑5 within the first year of employment.
  • Maintain required U.S. Department of Labor Mine, Safety & Health Administration training certificates, or complete the required training program(s) by the manager’s date.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; comply with CDL requirements if operating commercial vehicles above 26,001 lbs.
  • Travel required.
Level 2
  • Minimum of a certificate of completion from a technical or trade school, or 2‑5 years of relevant experience.
  • Complete TL1 and TL2 within 3‑6 months of hire.
Level 3
  • Minimum of a certificate of completion from a technical or trade school, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Rig Control Systems (RCS).
  • Complete TL1 and TL2 training within 1 month of hire.
  • Level determination based on relevant work experience, knowledge, skills, and ability to perform essential functions.
