Position

Field Service Technician – Epiroc USA LLC, PSD Division, Elko, NV.

Type of Work

Onsite, travelling to customer sites; may travel up to 2 weeks at a time.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive. It includes exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, and electrical shock. Company‑provided PPE is required.

Responsibilities – Level 1
  • Regularly review and update personal tool inventory on a quarterly basis.
  • Complete daily work assignments as requested by the customer or supervisor.
  • Use basic analytical skills to troubleshoot, identify problems, and complete repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Process warranty claim reports in the field according to company policy.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental requirements, promote proper safety procedures, and use PPE.
  • Maintain courteous and professional communication with customers and internal staff.
Responsibilities – Level 2
  • Evaluate and validate warranty claims and submit service reports for support claims.
  • Communicate service and relevant activities to the customer and Service Manager through daily service reports and other relevant forms, email, and telephone communication.
  • Support varied activities, managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities – Level 3
  • Develop customized solutions for customer‑specific issues using specialized expertise.
  • Rebuild complete components to OEM specifications in the service shop.
  • Perform essential functions across various equipment types covering all business lines.
  • Serve as subject‑matter expert for other service technicians and support their training and development.
Requirements – Level 1
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Epiroc equipment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, strong work ethic, and ability to read basic hydraulic and 24‑volt schematics.
  • Own hand tools and ability to expand inventory with additional tools per Epiroc list.
  • Complete TL1 and TL2 training and Safe Start Modules 1–5 within the first year of employment.
  • Maintain required U.S. Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration training certificates or complete the required training program(s) before the manager’s deadline.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; for operating a commercial vehicle over 26,001 pounds, obtain a CDL and maintain an active license. Minimum age 18 for intrastate driving, 21 for interstate.
  • Travel required.
Requirements – Level 2
  • Certificate of completion for a technical or trade school, or equivalent of 2–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Complete TL1 and TL2 within 3–6 months of hire.
Requirements – Level 3
  • Certificate of completion for a technical or trade school, or equivalent of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in Rig Control Systems (RCS).
  • Complete TL1 and TL2 training within 1 month of hire.

Salary Range

$45.00 to $52.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Position entitles the employee to a company vehicle.
