Job summary

The Bachrach Group in Dayton, OH is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, commission, test and maintain high power distribution equipment (500kVA to 500MVA). The role requires frequent travel and on-site problem solving.

Responsibilities include electrical testing (insulation resistance, winding resistance, power factor), oil sampling, and providing accurate documentation while collaborating across teams; OSHA 10/30 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical trade certification is preferred.
• 3+ years of electrical-mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and testing equipment.
• Familiar with ANSI/IEEE transformer standards.

Field Service Technician
Dayton, OH - Up to 75% Travel

Key Requirements

• Associates preferred or technical trade school certification
• Install, commission, test, perform maintenance, troubleshoot high power distribution equipment (500kVA to 500MVA)
• 3+yearsofelectrical-mechanicaltroubleshooting
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and test equipment
• Familiar with ANSI/IEEE transformer standards
• Client facing including night and weekend travel, 50-75%
• Perform oil sampling, analysis, processing (dry-out) and replacement
• Conduct electrical testing (e.g., insulation resistance, TTR, winding resistance, power factor and SFRA)
• Respond to emergency service calls, provide complete and accurate documentation
• Collaborate with other teams inside and outside of the organization and ensure quality
• OSHA 10/30 Certification

Required

• Valid driver’s license (motor vehicle report) and clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or heights
• Background and drug screen
