Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. in Billings, Montana is seeking a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair Komatsu underground equipment onsite. You will diagnose faults, perform component repairs, test equipment, and commission new units in a hands-on role.

The position requires 1–3 years of related experience or training, a valid forklift and/or manlift certification, and flexibility for shift work. You will stay current with industry practices and work to ensure customer satisfaction per safety

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
• Certified to operate a forklift and/or manlift.
• May be required to complete a DOT physical.
• Required to complete MSHA certification.
• May be required to complete respirator certification.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosis; adjust equipment & repair/replace parts components or systems according to scopes of work.
• Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
• Commission new equipment.
• Provide customer training as required.
• Stay current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure customer satisfaction within area of primary responsibility
• Work safely and follow all Komatsu/Customer safety policies and procedures.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases require to complete job accurately and timely.
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.

Education

Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent.
