Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and repair underground equipment in Billings, Montana. This onsite role requires hands-on troubleshooting and safe operation of heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance.

You will conduct tests, commission new equipment, and train customers as needed. Ideal candidates hold an Associate Degree in Diesel Technology with 1-3 years of related experience, and are certified to operate a forklift/manlift.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent.
• 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
• Certified to operate a forklift and/or manlift.
• May be required to complete a DOT physical.
• Required to complete MSHA certification.
• May be required to complete respirator certification.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosis; adjust equipment and repair/replace parts per scope of work.
• Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
• Commission new equipment.
• Provide customer training as required.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, etc.
• Stay current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure customer satisfaction within area of primary responsibility.
• Work safely and follow all Komatsu safety policies and procedures.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job accurately and timely.
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
