Key Responsibilities

The Field Service Technician (FST) plays a key role in delivering, installing, maintaining, and servicing Quanta’s dialysis systems across customer sites nationwide. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone who thrives on travel, problem-solving, and making a real difference in patients’ lives.

You'll be part of a supportive technical team working closely with Field Service Engineers, Clinical, Sales, Marketing, and Service teams — all aligned to create a seamless and reliable customer experience.

This opportunity is perfect for biomedical technicians/engineers who are looking to work for a fast-paced startup with frequent travel.

  • Support field installations of dialysis systems, including device setup and basic configuration at customer sites
  • Assist with pre-installation facility surveys to determine site readiness
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance per manufacturer specifications and company procedures
  • Conduct first-level diagnostics and escalate unresolved issues to Field Service Engineers
  • Replace parts and components as directed by senior technical staff
  • Maintain service documentation in compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
  • Manage assigned inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables
  • Ensure all tools and test equipment are functional, properly stored, and calibrated as required
  • Support delivery and logistics of new equipment within the assigned territory
  • Provide on-site support for customer questions and assist in training efforts when needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Clinical, Sales, and R&D to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and regulatory standards in all field activities

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant technical experience (e.g., field service, maintenance, mechanical/electrical repair)
  • Experience within the dialysis space (biomedical technician etc.)
  • Associate degree or technical certification but not required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and apply new technical concepts
  • Customer-facing experience and mentality required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable using service apps or ERP tools
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs and safely handle equipment and tools in field environments
  • Willingness to travel nationally (75-100%), including frequent airplane travel & overnight stays
