Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS) is a new system under development that will provide a modern auxiliary information display to Air Traffic Controllers in the National Airspace System (NAS). E-IDS will consolidate several legacy IDS systems into a common platform to provide controllers with current and consistent information needed to perform air traffic operations from both local and enterprise sources. E-IDS will use a common hardware and software platform across over 400 NAS facilities, including En Route, Terminal, Tower, and Offshore domains.

Location: Remote with 60% travel

We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Field Service Technicians to support the deployment and maintenance of mission-critical systems in Air Traffic Operations environments. This role involves conducting detailed site surveys, preparing installation sites, installing and mounting equipment, and performing system turn-up and acceptance testing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the flexibility to travel extensively across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site surveys to evaluate and document site conditions and installation requirements.
  • Perform site preparation activities, including equipment rack placement and alignment, pulling and terminating power and network cables, and mounting of displays, sensors, and other hardware in Air Traffic Operations areas.
  • Execute system turn-up, configuration, and initial functional testing.
  • Conduct acceptance testing in coordination with engineering and customer representatives.
  • Ensure all installations comply with technical specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.
  • Accurately document work performed and provide detailed reports post-installation.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering teams, and site personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and 3+ years professional experience.
  • Proven experience in field service or technical installation roles, preferably in critical infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with rack-mounted systems, cabling standards, and structured network and power wiring.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and site plans.
  • Comfortable working in secure or restricted-access environments such as Air Traffic Operations centers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 60%, including overnight stays.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in FAA or similar regulated environments.
  • Certifications in cabling, networking, or electronics (e.g., CompTIA, BICSI, etc.)
  • OSHA 10/30 certification or other safety training.
