Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start‑up, commissioning, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and service support for IEM equipment in the field. This role requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision, while serving as a customer contact in the field.

The candidate will analyze system failures, document activities, and provide guidance to Level I technicians. Occasional travel to regional sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems, including switchgear, UPS, generators, or related equipment preferred.
• 1+ years of experience supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• 1–3 years of related electrical, mechanical, technical, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, or field service experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment (switchboards, control panels, power products).
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies as required.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, and internal teams.
• Analyze system failures to determine root causes and corrective actions for moderately complex issues.
