The Role: East Coast Regional Field Service Excellence
This 85% travel position puts you at the heart of food production, ensuring critical equipment stays operational at customer facilities across the East Coast region. Travel is strategically divided between:
- Local travel within 5 hours of Charlotte, NC region (50% driving)
- Regional East Coast travel by air (50% flying) covering the eastern seaboard
You'll be the technical expert customers rely on when production lines go down, serving as the company's East Coast regional coverage specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair sophisticated food processing machinery across East Coast facilities
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical (480V), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and European technical drawings
- Provide on-site customer training and technical support
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with German engineering teams
- Document service activities and maintain detailed technical reports
- Build lasting relationships with key food manufacturing accounts throughout the East Coast
- Represent the company as the primary technical resource for the eastern region
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years mechanical/electrical repair experience in industrial environments
- Proficiency reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting 480V/220V systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience
- Food manufacturing background strongly (GMP/FDA knowledge a plus)
- Personal vehicle under 10 years old with fewer than 200,000 miles
- Comfortable with 85% travel including overnight stays and occasional weekends
- Strong customer service skills - you'll be the face of our client to frustrated customers
- Location flexibility for East Coast regional coverage
Qualifications:
- Experience with European food processing equipment (Multivac, Weber, German systems)
- PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
- Military background or formal technical training
- Cold storage environment experience (-13°F to -30°F)
- Airport proximity to Charlotte Douglas International Airport
Outstanding Compensation Package:
- $30-35/hour (flexible for the right candidate)
- Guaranteed 40 hours/week pay even when not scheduled
- Overtime after 8 hours DAILY at 1.5x rate (not after 40 hours like most companies!)

- East Coast Coverage: Primary responsibility for eastern seaboard customer accounts
- Travel Split: 50% driving (within 5 hours of Charlotte), 50% flying (East Coast region)
- Typical Week: Monday travel, Tuesday-Thursday customer sites, Friday home
- Flexibility Required: Food industry runs 24/7 - may need 2nd shift or weekend work when customer demands it
