Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Conveyor Belting Technician who is mechanically inclined. Performs splices and installation on various types of conveyor belts and components to meet customer and industry requirements. Performs other field service and warehouse tasks as trained and required. Reports to Field Service Supervisor or Manager.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
• Work closely with Field Service Supervisors and team members to attain goals and objectives.
• Understand overall quality process and documentation.
• Communicate general and quality-related concerns to management.
• Provide onsite customer service.
• Perform conveyor belt installation with mechanical or vulcanized splice.
• Understand tools and machinery applicable to the job.
• Ensure travel requirements are met.
• Perform other duties as trained and qualified.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to work overtime hours, evenings, and weekends when required.
• Willingness to travel to out-of-town jobs as needed.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional interaction.
• Basic mechanical skills including use of hand tools.
• Basic computer skills (internet and email).
• Ability to apply OSHA and MSHA standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• At least 3 years of experience with conveyors and conveyor components.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and safely drive a company truck.
• Work overtime, nights, and weekends when required.
• Basic math skills and accurate measurement with a tape measure.
• Ability to travel regularly.
• Background checks, drug screening, and DOT physical exam required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with conveyors and conveyor components.
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent education and production maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance and repair of machinery.
• OSHA 10 and MSHA certifications.
• First aid and CPR certifications.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role involves customer onsite work and warehouse floor environments. Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Responsibilities include pulling, pushing, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs independently. Observes safety procedures, wears required PPE, and inspects products for wear, damage, and leaks. Requires ability to travel to service vehicles, work at varying heights, and follow written instructions.
