Job summary

Clean Harbors in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Field Service Sales Rep (Field Service Specialist) to scope projects, provide client support, and prepare proposals and cost estimates for environmental projects such as remediation, emergency response services, scheduled maintenance, and other field services.

You will coordinate with clients, set up projects, manage resources, and ensure health and safety compliance while building strong relationships with key customers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies and procedures.
  • Conduct walk‑throughs and scope potential projects for clients, including cost estimation and proposals.
  • Provide technical support for proposals, cost estimates, and subcontractor selection.
  • Set up projects, coordinate resources and scheduling, and ensure proper costing and utilization.
  • Develop relationships with key customers to understand their issues.
  • Manage large‑scale field service and emergency response projects as directed.
  • Direct personnel in operations to complete assignments and understand labor/equipment needs.
  • Oversee project profitability, completeness, and professionalism.
  • Follow all compliance regulations and health & safety guidelines.
  • Observe and implement on‑site health & safety action plans with site teams.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner
  • Conduct walk‑throughs and scope potential projects for clients, including cost estimation, technical proposal preparation, and client support
  • Provide technical support for proposal preparation, project cost estimates, and subcontractor selection and procurement
  • Set up projects; coordinate resources and scheduling; ensure proper costing/utilization of labor and equipment
  • Act as an agent of business and develop relationships with key customers to understand their issues
  • Manage large‑scale field service and emergency response projects when directed
  • Direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments and understand labor and equipment requirements for field service projects and emergency responses
  • Oversee and ensure projects are completed for health & safety, profitability, completeness and professionalism
  • Review operational procedures to assure correct health & safety action plans and communicate effectively with the health & safety organization regarding on‑site specific action
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures, and all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • By position, may perform lead responsibilities
Qualifications

  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical examination, as required
  • Meet facial hair standards as per OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, for positions requiring respirators
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Environmental Services (e.g., remediation, abatement, emergency spill response, etc.)
