A leading defense contractor is seeking a Lead Field Service Representative to conduct navigation certifications on U.S. Navy ships. This role involves significant travel and requires extensive experience in U.S. Navy Navigation systems. Responsibilities

  • Light-off and troubleshoot primary systems and peripheral equipment.
  • Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under operating conditions.
  • Develop skills related to new technology and systems relevant to projects; improve procedures for efficiency and safety.
  • Provide oversight and on-the-job training to lower-level technicians.
  • Input to Project Managers for proposals and Statements of Work.

Field Service Representative, Lead (NAVCERT)

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance is required to start

SUMMARY

WR has a potential opportunity for a Field Service Representative, Lead (NAVCERT). This role offer an exciting and challenging opportunity to represent the Navigation Systems In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) in conducting Navigation Certifications (NAVCERT) aboard U.S. Navy ships.

Position responsibilities
  • Conduct dockside and at-sea tests; analyze collected data and identify and resolve installation, technical, and procedural issues.
  • Provide expertise to resolve navigation system interface issues with other shipboard systems and assist in developing and updating required documentation and procedures.
  • Travel to sponsor sites as a technical representative; conduct field tests, interpret and evaluate field data, and serve as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
  • Prepare status, progress, and final project reports describing results of field experiments and/or inspections.
  • Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of projects.
  • Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Continuously develop skills related to new technology and systems relevant to ongoing and anticipated projects.
  • Maintain and seek improvements to test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Provide oversight and on-the-job training to lower-level technicians.
  • Provide input to Project Managers for proposals and Statements of Work.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical training in U.S. Navy Navigation Systems.
  • Five (5)+ years of hands‑on experience with U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems, including experience in at least three (3) of the following four (4) areas:
    • Systems Requirements
    • Operational Requirements
    • Test & Evaluation
    • Training
  • Recognized expert demonstrating industry and public service leadership in U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems.
