Job summary

Markem-Imaje is seeking a self-motivated Field Service Representative in Chicago, IL with experience in industrial automation to install, repair, and maintain coding and marking equipment.

You will troubleshoot, train customers, and work with sales to support demos and service visits. Travel within NAM regions and occasional weekends.

A mechanical or electrical engineering degree plus 3–5 years field service is preferred; strong communication and ability to train diverse audiences required.

Qualifications

• BA in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years field service experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Customer relationship management and training skills.
• Willing to travel on short notice; able to work independently.
• Ability to train diverse audiences.

The Field Service Representative will be responsible for delivering, installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing equipment used in the coding and identification of all types of consumer goods, such as beverage goods, snack foods and all types of consumer goods which require marking with consumer expiration and tracking information. **Job Responsibilities:*** Performing general field service repair and maintenance activities required to support Markem-Imaje customers and installed machine base.* Resolving operational issues in the field. Identifying any issues and performing troubleshooting procedures.* Determining customer needs and offering recommendations.* Contributing to business growth and sustainment through technical involvement, influence, and teamwork.* New equipment installations, customer training, emergency and routine repair, contract sales and maintenance and any other service-related activities as directed by management.* Determining and recommending which products or services best fit the customers’ needs.* Developing and maintaining technical and operational competency on Markem-Imaje products through study, training, hands on use and field exposure to customer applications. Required to successfully complete product training courses and demonstrate a minimum competency level as defined by management.* Achieving and maintaining a level of customer satisfaction consistent with Markem-Imaje quality guidelines and objectives.* Collaborating and teamworking with sales members to assist with machine demos, installations, technical training, courtesy calls, customer communication and follow up activities.* The Field Service Representative will reside in a primary service division area, which will be considered the primary area of responsibility. Travel outside of the division area to other division areas is expected and required at times within the NAM Regional area.
