Job summary

Aurora Energy Services is seeking a Field Service Representative – BESS Technician (Traveling) to support battery energy storage systems across utility-scale and commercial sites nationwide. You will perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of BESS components, read schematics, and document activities while traveling to sites.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in electrical field service or related energy systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for field assignments.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of BESS systems including batteries, PCS, inverters, and balance of system components.
• Support system startup, energization, and performance verification activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, communication, and control system faults within BESS infrastructure.
• Conduct testing such as insulation resistance, functional checks, and system diagnostics.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams.
• Complete service reports, commissioning checklists, and documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow NFPA 70E, OSHA, and applicable electrical safety standards at all times.
• Work with engineering and field teams to resolve system issues and improve reliability.
• Travel to job sites as required.

Position Overview

Aurora is seeking experienced Field Service Representatives to support Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) operations across utility-scale and commercial sites nationwide. This role involves hands‑on electrical and mechanical work supporting installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of battery storage systems and associated equipment in field environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of BESS systems including batteries, PCS, inverters, and balance of system components.
• Support system startup, energization, and performance verification activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, communication, and control system faults within BESS infrastructure.
