NRG Energy, Inc. through Vivint Smart Home seeks a Field Service Technician to install and service smart home systems. You will evaluate homes, upsell upgrades on-site, and train customers on operating their new systems. A sales mindset and strong customer focus are essential, with growth opportunities across the national organization.

The role includes hands-on installation, ongoing coaching, and company support such as paid training and a competitive compensation package.

Competenze

• Sales experience in retail, B2C or service-based sales is a plus.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse customers.
• Technical aptitude in home security or installation is helpful but not required.

A Day in the Life:

• Technical Excellence:Installing, servicing, and troubleshooting security cameras, smart locks, and home automation systems.
• Consultative Sales:Evaluating customer homes to recommend and sell equipment upgrades or service enhancements on-site.

What We’re Looking For:

We hire for attitude and train for skill. Whether you are an experienced technician or a sales pro looking for a hands‑on change, we want to hear from you if you have:

• A Sales Mindset:Experience in retail, B2C sales, insurance, or service-based sales is a major plus.
• Customer First Attitude:Ability to act with integrity while building rapport with diverse customers.
• Technical Aptitude:Experience in cable/satellite install, pest control, construction, or solar is helpful but not required.
• Requirements:A valid driver’s license and a good driving record; ability to successfully pass post-offer background investigation and licensing requirements per applicable law.

Physical Requirements of the Role:

The successful candidate must be able to safely perform the following essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Climb and descend extension and step ladders with tools and equipment on a repeated basis
• Lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 pounds frequently
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold
• Enter and perform work in attics:
• Temperatures may exceed 110°F for short periods
• Openings can be as small as 16” x 30” of 18” x 24”
• Crawling, kneeling, crouching, awkward postures may be required for up to 60 minutes at a time
• Maintaining 3-points of contact while navigating or traversing across trusses without stepping on drywall in between
• Operate a company vehicle repeatedly
• Perform work while standing for extended periods
• Perform computer and telephone work while seated as needed
