Field Service Technician/Mechanic in Water/Wastewater Industry

Up to 90% Travel

General Description:

Services products and equipment as assigned. Starts up, identifies, analyzes, and repairs instruments and products at customer locations. Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, installations, and modifications as needed or requested by customers. Provides training at customer sites. Troubleshoots basic control circuits. Determines parts to order for repairs and assesses timeliness of needs.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, start-ups, repairs, installations, and modifications as requested by customers.
  2. Determines the best methods to resolve problems encountered at customer sites and communicates effectively with customers.
  3. Acts as a liaison between the customer and the company, providing feedback to business units.
  4. Prepares and submits trip reports in a timely manner and maintains required records.
  5. Manages own travel arrangements to minimize costs.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of assigned products.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 requirements is desirable.
  • At least 2 years of technical training in the area of specialty.
  • Minimum of 2 years of field troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read mechanical and technical drawings.
  • Ability to perform extensive manual labor, including lifting/pushing/pulling over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
Travel:

Up to 90% travel required.
