Salary Range

$35.00 to $43.00 hourly

Location: Custom Truck One Source, 6708 Townline Road, Syracuse, NY 13211

Position: Field Service Tech in Greater Syracuse area

Responsibilities include PMs & repairs of utility trucks and equipment, hydraulics, electrical wiring, diesel engines, and operating bucket trucks, diggers, cranes. Check out Custom Truck One Source for more info.

Company Overview

Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) designs, assembles, sells, rents, and services trucks, cranes, and heavy equipment for major utility, telecom, construction, forestry, oil, and rail clients nationwide.

Summary

Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining chassis and aerial equipment in the field, following dealer and factory standards. Must provide own tools and a valid driver’s license. Ability to travel overnight when required.

Compensation includes pay based on experience, overtime, healthcare, PTO, 401k match, training, uniforms, safety gear allowances, and tool discounts. Ongoing training programs are available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Report issues to the Service Manager with relevant information
• Read manuals and repair instructions, utilize diagnostic software
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Inspect, service, and repair vehicles in the field and at the shop
• Verify repairs, perform road tests, and document work accurately
• Follow safety protocols and attend training sessions
• Comply with environmental regulations
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Travel as needed beyond the local area
• Assist in improving customer satisfaction and perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum five years of related experience (Shop and Field Tech)

• Proficient in documentation and software use

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and manual dexterity
