Job summary

Herc Rentals Inc is seeking a Field Service Mechanic B in Everett, Washington. You will be responsible for maintaining Herc's fleet at customer job sites, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment is in proper operating condition.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventive maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at long-term customer job sites.
• Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted services.
• Analyze problem areas for wear or tear and address them to ensure proper usage until the next visit.

Job description

Field Service Mechanic B

As a Field Service Mechanic B, you are an expert technician who supports product knowledge and quality standards within the branch. You will ensure our fleet remains in proper operating condition on customer job sites, serve as a valued resource, and build positive relationships with customers while supporting community growth.

What You Will Do

• Maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventive maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at long-term customer job sites.
• Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition at the job site.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and propane systems.
• Recondition and replace parts to return equipment to a safely functioning state.
• Educate customers on proper use of equipment to avoid future breakdowns.
• Analyze problem areas for wear or tear and address them to ensure proper usage until the next visit.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines posted at active job sites where repairs and maintenance are completed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area on the job site.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Follow all company procedures and protocols.
• Build positive relationships with customers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand detailed technical schematics, owner manuals, and product warning labels.
• Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps, and assorted tools.
• Ability to be on call to support operational needs.
• Valid driver's license.

Pay Range

$34-37 per hour.
