Job summary

TranSource is seeking an automotive service technician to provide on-site service, installation, repair, and maintenance with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. You will diagnose issues, communicate with parts, and complete repair orders to dealership and factory standards.

Applicants must have a clean driving record and pass background, DOT physical, and functional ability tests; CDL preferred. Great benefits, training, and opportunities to grow within our service network.

Responsibilities

  • Providing service and customer support during field visits, dispatches, or in the shop.
  • Performing all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicates with shop foreman/service advisor/service manager immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership, factory, and customer standards.
  • Road tests vehicles when required.
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Ensures that customers' vehicles are kept clean. Notifies Supervisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Maintains a clean and professional work environment including tools, equipment, shop and service truck to high appearance standards.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools, computers, and manuals – (paper and electronic). Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner and work alone out in the field.

Requirements

Applicants must have a clean driving record and must pass a background check, DOT physical, and functional ability test. Class A or B CDL License is preferred
