Job summary

WGNSTAR, based in Boise, Idaho, seeks a field service technician to provide onsite support for state-of-the-art semiconductor equipment. You will install, calibrate, diagnose, and repair tools, working with customers and field teams to meet tight timelines.

Requirements include 1+ year experience with wet etch or wet bench equipment, ability to read schematics, strong communication, and safe operation. Travel up to 10% and full benefits accompany this full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support for installation, maintenance, and site support for semiconductor equipment.
• Evaluate and diagnose problems and make proper repairs.
• Follow and help develop detailed procedures.
• Work with customers and field support to resolve problems under tight timeframes.
• Troubleshoot and document findings.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of equipment at customer facilities under supervision.
• Power up new equipment; perform mechanical setup and calibration.
• Set up tool parameters using specs/guidelines.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs using procedures.
• Engage with customers on-site to gather performance information.
• Work under limited supervision on complex tasks requiring independent judgment.
• Perform extensive troubleshooting and repairs.
• Diagnose equipment problems and timely repairs/adjustments.
• Escalate unresolved issues promptly.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Pay Rate: $37.00 to $43.00 depending on experience and level

Location: Boise, ID

Travel: Up to 10%

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support for installation, maintenance, and site support for state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing/wet processing equipment.
• Evaluate and diagnose problems and make proper repairs.
• Follow and help develop detailed procedures.
• Work with co-workers, customer and field support in isolating and resolving problems under strict time restraints.
• Troubleshoot and document findings.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of equipment at customer facilities, under direct supervision.
• Power up new equipment; perform mechanical setup and calibration.
• Setup tool parameters using specs/guidelines.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repair using specified procedures.
• Work with customer at the site to build rapport and to obtain information about equipment performance
• Work under limited supervision, perform a variety of complex assignments using independent judgment.
• Perform extensive troubleshooting.
• Diagnose equipment problems and promptly make repairs/adjustments.
• Escalate problems that cannot be resolved in a timely manner.

Requirements

• 1+ year semiconductor wet etch / wet bench equipment experience.
• Ability to perform successfully in a demanding environment with varying workloads.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Work in a safe manner and follow all safety protocols.
• Have a strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Have experience using alignment tools (micrometers/calipers/multimeters/current clamps).
• Ability to read schematics/plumbing diagrams.
• Chemical handling and familiarity (protective equipment and hazards).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Work according to strict procedures.
• Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Clear and effective communication skills both written and verbally.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Physical Effort/Activities

May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able tobend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
