Field Service Engineer (REMOTE FIELD MN)

Location

US Remote - MN

The Field Service Engineer provides customer support through on-site installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment. The role includes instructing customers on operation and maintenance, and acting as a liaison on technical and administrative matters. Responsibilities extend beyond hardware to include software, PCs, and networking.

Location: Remote role servicing customers in Minnesota.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform installations, maintenance, validations, and repairs ensuring compliance with standards.
  2. Engage with customers to understand workflows and tailor services including training and upgrades.
  3. Improve account profitability through efficient service and identifying revenue opportunities.
  4. Maintain tools, test equipment, telecommunication gear, and inventory.
  5. Report improvement opportunities to enhance product quality.
  6. Participate in training and development programs.
  7. Complete administrative tasks such as time reporting and training.
  8. Maintain safety, security, environmental, and operational compliance.

Management may reassign duties as needed.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Customer service orientation and active listening skills.
  • Practical and technical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields plus 3 years of laboratory equipment repair experience, or
  • Associate Degree plus 5 years of experience, or
  • High School Diploma plus 7+ years of experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, with provided car, laptop, and phone.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of analytical equipment and software.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Vendor certifications and laboratory safety knowledge.
Working Environment:
  • Work in laboratory and controlled environments with PPE.
  • Fast-paced environment with high demands.
  • Stationary work over 25% of the time, with occasional movement and lifting.
  • Visual and physical requirements for safety and technical tasks.
  • Potential handling of hazardous waste and chemicals.
  • Medical clearance and safety training may be required.

The annual compensation range is $58,760 - $87,360, with final pay based on various factors.
