Field Service Engineer – Packaging & Machinery Systems

Indianapolis, IN Area | $75K–$85K BOE | Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM

RemX is hiring a Field Service Engineer for a well-established manufacturer of bagging equipment and robotic palletizing systems. You will be on the front lines—installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment used daily by customers.

This role is ideal if you enjoy practical, mechanical work and want to develop your career in a stable, supportive company that values hands-on expertise.

What You’ll Do:
  • Travel to customer sites to install, service, and troubleshoot packaging and palletizing equipment
  • Work with reliable machinery—baggers, conveyors, and robot cabinets
  • Read, program, and modify basic ladder logic and electrical schematics
  • Assist customers in maintaining machines—on-site and via phone
  • Perform regular tune-ups and repairs in the field
  • Update electrical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Build and wire control panels
  • Communicate effectively with technicians, engineers, and customers
  • Travel up to 80%, with local shop time in Mooresville, IN
What You Bring:
  • 2+ years in a field service or controls engineering role
  • Knowledge of electrical panels, PLCs (Allen Bradley, Compact Logix, Micro Logix, PanelView), and mechanical systems
  • Experience building panels, using hand tools, and reading schematics
  • CAD (2D/3D) skills
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one for occasional international travel
  • A passion for being hands-on, solving real-world problems
