Job summary

Russells Technical Products Inc. seeks a Field Service Engineer for on-site work at our Holland, Michigan facility, with ongoing travel to customer sites after an initial 2–4 week training period.

Responsibilities include field installations, start-ups, preventative maintenance, performance testing, and documenting results. You will train users, troubleshoot refrigeration/electronics and coordinate service calls, while maintaining service logs and travel records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years work experience or training in commercial / industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R.
• Experience with electronics and controls programming.
• Work experience in a related service capacity.
• Experience or training in cascade refrigeration systems preferred.
• EPA Universal Certificate preferred.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate refrigeration, electronics, and electro-mechanical systems using prints and schematics to restore full operation.
• Establish and maintain positive customer relationships and coordinate service calls, explain retrofit benefits, and develop preventive maintenance contracts.
• Maintain knowledge of warranty, maintenance, and service policies; keep vehicle logs and travel expense reports.

Description

This job would be on-the-road traveling and staying in hotels 4 nights a week after completing a 2-4 week training period at our facility in Holland, Michigan.

Field Service Engineer: What the Work Looks Like:

1. You will perform field installations and start-ups, preventative maintenance, inspect/conduct performance tests to verify that product complies with manufacturing prints and application engineering/purchase specifications and requirements, and document installed product performance.
2. You will conduct training and instruct the product users in proper operation and maintenance of our products.
3. You will troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate various operating systems of refrigeration, electronics, and electro-mechanical components utilizing prints and schematics to bring/return products to fully operational condition.
4. You will establish, maintain, and develop positive relationships with customers. This involves contacting customers to coordinate service calls at their facility, to generate work, to explain the benefits of refrigeration and controller retrofits, to establish preventive maintenance contracts, and perform general service work.
5. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Russells Technical Products' warranty, maintenance, and service policies and procedures
6. Maintain vehicle logs, maintenance schedules, and keep detailed field service and travel expense reports.

Our physical manufacturing location is in Holland, Michigan.

Travel:

You will have weekly local and regional travel to customer facilities.

1. You will be paid 100% of your hourly wage for travel time.
2. $350 per diem paid weekly for personal expenses. No receipts needed.
3. 100% of travel costs paid by the company.
4. Work vehicle provided.

Requirements

Must have at least 2 years refrigeration experience AND a solid understanding of single stage refrigeration. Knowledge of cascade refrigeration a plus.

To be successful in this position you should have:

1. Minimum 2 years work experience or training in commercial / industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R
2. Experience with electronics and controls programming
3. Work experience in a related service capacity.
4. Experience or training in cascade refrigeration systems, EPA Universal Certificate, and work experience in the environmental simulation systems industry are preferred.
5. Valid driver’s license.
