Job summary

Russells Technical Products seeks a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site installations, start-ups, preventive maintenance and performance testing at customer facilities. You will train users and document results, ensuring compliance with specifications.

The role requires travel to regional sites with a 2–4 week training at our Holland, Michigan facility. A company vehicle is provided; travel time is paid; a weekly $350 per diem is available and travel costs are fully covered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in commercial/industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R.
• Experience with electronics and controls programming.
• EPA Universal Certificate preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Cascade refrigeration experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform field installations and start-ups at customer sites.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and verify performance per specifications.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate refrigeration, electronics, and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Train product users on operation and maintenance.
• Coordinate service calls and maintain customer relationships.

Description

This job would be on-the-road traveling and staying in hotels 4 nights a week after completing a 2-4 week training period at our facility in Holland, Michigan.

Field Service Engineer: What the Work Looks Like:

• You will perform field installations and start-ups, preventative maintenance, inspect/conduct performance tests to verify that product complies with manufacturing prints and application engineering/purchase specifications and requirements, and document installed product performance.
• You will conduct training and instruct the product users in proper operation and maintenance of our products.
• You will troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate various operating systems of refrigeration, electronics, and electro-mechanical components utilizing prints and schematics to bring/return products to fully operational condition.
• You will establish, maintain, and develop positive relationships with customers. This involves contacting customers to coordinate service calls at their facility, to generate work, to explain the benefits of refrigeration and controller retrofits, to establish preventive maintenance contracts, and perform general service work.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of Russells Technical Products' warranty, maintenance, and service policies and procedures
• Maintain vehicle logs, maintenance schedules, and keep detailed field service and travel expense reports.

Our physical manufacturing location is in Holland, Michigan.

Travel

You will have weekly local and regional travel to customer facilities.

• You will be paid 100% of your hourly wage for travel time.
• $350 per diem paid weekly for personal expenses. No receipts needed.
• 100% of travel costs paid by the company.
• Work vehicle provided.

Requirements

Must have at least 2 years refrigeration experience AND a solid understanding of single stage refrigeration. Knowledge of cascade refrigeration a plus.

To Be Successful In This Position You Should Have

• Minimum 2 years work experience or training in commercial / industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R
• Experience with electronics and controls programming
• Work experience in a related service capacity.
• Experience or training in cascade refrigeration systems, EPA Universal Certificate, and work experience in the environmental simulation systems industry are preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
