EFI is looking for Field Service Engineers to join our team in the US, preferably in the Chicago, IL region. These are remote roles that will require regular travel to our customer bases, specifically focused on our Nozomi single-pass digital printing product line.

What you will do:

  1. Provide on-site installation and setup of all printers associated with the Inkjet product lines.
  2. Give initial and ongoing formal customer operator and printer maintenance training.
  3. Provide periodic on-site troubleshooting and repairs on printers that may be experiencing complex electrical, mechanical or pneumatic problems.
  4. Provide detailed technical feedback and liaise regularly with our customer call center.
  5. Provide service & support to exhibitions.
  6. Work remotely with customers to accurately identify equipment issues and provide technical information and repair guidance to pinpoint the necessary solutions to reported issues.
  7. Participate in after-hours support activities on a rotating basis.

This role might be a good fit if you:

  1. Have a minimum two-year mechanical/electrical engineering qualification.
  2. Have previous work experience in mechanical, digital, and electronic technology (highly preferred).
  3. Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  4. Possess very good knowledge of the Microsoft Windows environment.
  5. Have the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems at the component level.
  6. Have knowledge of large format printers and/or presses and printing applications (desirable).
  7. Possess knowledge of inkjet printing and color theory.
  8. Have a proven ability to provide training.
  9. Exhibit good communication skills and be a team player.
  10. Be flexible for traveling within the territory and abroad, on very short notice.
  11. Be fluent in English and the local language.
