Job summary

BD Life Sciences seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, service, maintain, and implement field corrective actions on BD Life sciences equipment at customer sites in clinical and research laboratories. This field-based role reports to the District Service Manager and requires travel to customer sites with on-site training and strong customer focus.

The engineer will troubleshoot, perform repairs, manage assets, and work with Technical Support to deliver high-quality service.

Qualifications

Associates degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Provide service, preventive maintenance, modifications and installations at customer sites.
Troubleshoot system failures and perform on-site repairs.
Manage company assets (phones, laptops, tools, inventory).
Establish strong relationships with customers and peers.
Perform administrative duties (time reporting, training, expenses).
Provide feedback on instrument repair and status to customers.
Coordinate with Technical Support for top-tier service.
Collaborate with district leads and dispatch for scheduling.
