Qualifications

Environmental Conditions
Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, loud noises from equipment/machinery, and use of PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.) required.

Work Schedule
Standard (Monday-Friday).

Location/Division
The position supports the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD), which offers analytical instruments and services across various industries including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Life Sciences, Medical, Energy, Spectroscopy, and Mining. CAD operates globally with over 4,000 employees, providing product solutions that enable confident, on-the-spot decision-making.

The division includes business units such as:

  1. Measurement Control and Sample Identification
  2. Environmental and Process Monitoring
  3. Production Process and Analytics
  4. Bulk Elemental Analysis

The role specifically supports the Bulk Elemental Analysis business, helping customers accelerate production, improve quality, make faster process decisions, and protect their brands. We manufacture high-quality analytical solutions for sectors like clean energy, food safety, and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include providing services on Spectroscopy instruments (OES, XRF, XRD), including installation, repairs, maintenance, and qualifications. You will also engage with customers, team members, sales, technical support, and engineering.

  • Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and validation of spectroscopy systems.
  • Use management software to resolve service calls, control parts inventories, and document jobs.
  • Inspect malfunctioning products, analyze issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as a communication link between customers and the company to ensure effective service.
  • Develop and conduct training on equipment operation and safety.

Minimum Education & Experience
High school diploma with 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer working with analytical instrumentation, or a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering, or related field with 5 years of experience.

Proficiencies include customer orientation, technical knowledge of scientific equipment, effective communication, documentation skills, and ability to work independently at customer sites.

Travel & Physical/Environmental Requirements
Ability to travel up to 70% within the territory and other areas as needed. Physical activities include stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs with assistance), and working in various environments, including customer locations with noise and hazards. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required.
