Job description

Join Omnicell, a pioneering force in healthcare technology, as a Field Service Engineer (FSE) I or II, where your work will directly impact patient care and outcomes. Our FSEs provide troubleshooting, repair services, and scheduled preventive maintenance for Omnicell's pharmacy and supply automation solutions at customer sites. Your work will ensure critical pharmacy and supply systems operate smoothly, helping healthcare providers deliver the highest quality patient care.

Whether you are a Level I or Level II Engineer, you will be dispatched as needed by our 24x7 Technical Assistance Center. Our FSEs work on medication management hardware and software repairs, fixes, and troubleshooting.

Field Service Engineer Level I Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Perform moderate onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs of Omnicell's electromechanical solutions. Communicate regularly with nursing and pharmacy staff and handle problems of moderate scope.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline, or
  • Associates Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology discipline, or five years of equivalent troubleshooting and repair experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline with troubleshooting experience.
  • Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
  • Experience in a hospital environment.
Field Service Engineer Level II Responsibilities and Qualifications

Take on more advanced responsibilities, perform independent onsite troubleshooting, preventive and emergency maintenance of electromechanical and automation solutions, and communicate with director-level staff. Provide coaching and mentoring as needed.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline + 1 year of relevant experience, or
  • Associates Degree/Trade School Certification + 4 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of equivalent troubleshooting experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with one year troubleshooting experience.
  • Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
  • Experience in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices and Quality Management Systems.
Shared Responsibilities for Both Levels
  • Document all service events per policies.
  • Meet response time and service level guidelines.
  • Escalate product issues through support channels.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage parts inventory and return processes.
Work Conditions for Both Levels
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. to 5 ft. high.
  • Available 24/7, including weekends on call.
  • Local travel required.
  • Provide home workspace and trunk stock storage.

Note: Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, meet insurance requirements, and own a vehicle in good condition.
