Job summary

Saalex Corporation seeks a Field Service Engineer I to support Navy IT and network systems across CONUS and OCONUS locations, including Tidewater, VA and San Diego, CA.

The role emphasizes hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and system sustainment of mission-critical infrastructure, with travel, DoD clearance eligibility, and collaboration with engineering and cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in field service engineering or IT support.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in IT/Engineering/Electronics.
• Hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and repair of IT or network systems.
• Familiar with hardware, cabling, and basic network configurations.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+).
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET, Top Secret, or SCI clearance.
• Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites.
• Strong troubleshooting and independent on-site work skills.
• Effective communication and ability to work independently on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and network equipment at field sites.
• Troubleshoot and repair servers, workstations, and network devices.
• Support system integration, upgrades, and deployments per requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and health checks for operational readiness.
• Document field activities and configurations.
• Collaborate with engineering, network, and cybersecurity teams.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies including STIGs during installs.
• Support logistics for equipment, spares, and parts.
