Job Description Summary

The Field Engineer I performs timely and accurate Preventative Maintenance on one or more modalities of equipment. The FE1 follows all Field Modification Instructions and/or Instrument Service Information bulletins. Works with experienced Field Engineers, both onsite and remotely, to learn troubleshooting, repair, and equipment installation techniques. Responsible for driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Complete on-time and accurate Preventative Maintenance, FMIs, and ISIs.
  • Assist experienced field engineers with equipment installation.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair on designated equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates and customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
  • Recommend value-added services to help customers operate more efficiently.
  • Maintain customer service logs, internal service records, order parts, and manage cycle times.
  • Utilize GEHC escalation process and collaborate with support teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Participate in sales opportunities and promote revenue programs.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, focusing on their needs.
  • Stay updated on market trends and competitor information.
  • Answer service calls independently within one year of employment.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering fields, military education, internship, externship, or 4+ years servicing electronic equipment with a high school diploma/GED.
  • Experience with Web applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable: Ultrasound experience.
  • Must pass background checks, drug tests, immunization proof, and other customer access policies.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs.; bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch, kneel, sit, and stand for long periods.
  • Reach at/above/below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and have good dexterity. Vision abilities include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Willing to work after hours, weekends, and on-call schedules as needed.
Quality Goals
  • Comply with GEHC Quality Manual, policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Meet applicable regulatory requirements and complete all quality and safety training.
