Job description

Field Service Engineer I/II

New York - Remote

Summary:

The Field Service Engineer I/II will be responsible for visiting customer sites to install, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Install, troubleshoot, and repair flow cytometers and Cytek Upgrade products efficiently and professionally.
  2. Provide courteous and professional support to Cytek's customers, maintaining the company's reputation for service excellence.
  3. Identify customer needs and contribute to product improvements.
  4. Manage daily schedules to prioritize urgent customer needs and set appropriate expectations for less urgent issues.
  5. Support customers via telephone, schedule service visits, gather problem information, isolate faults, perform corrective actions, and close site visits with high quality and efficiency.
  6. Complete all business-related transactions accurately and promptly, including Field Service Reports, Instrument Qualification Reports, Parts Return Tags, and Travel Expenses.
  7. Manage personal inventory of service spare parts to ensure accuracy and currency.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or military technical service preferred.
  • Experience in Flow Cytometry in a laboratory setting is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in Flow Cytometry Repair is a plus but not required.
  • Basic understanding of biology related to flow cytometry.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with evening and weekend work as needed. The role requires travel via commercial airlines, trains, and rental cars. The physical demands include lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for up to 4 hours. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities.
