Responsibilities
The Field Service Engineer provides highly visible customer support through on-site installation, diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. The senior engineer instructs customers in system operation and maintenance and acts as the company liaison on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. The role may include various aspects of field support, including hardware, software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.
Location: Remote Field role servicing customers in Georgia. Travel 80% or more around Georgia. Includes a company vehicle for personal use, cell, and laptop.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, validate, and repair PerkinElmer and/or multivendor instrumentation at customer sites with top-tier service.
- Provide troubleshooting, repair, and qualification services, including warranty services within designated timeframes and protocols.
- Communicate service offerings, including training, support, software, laboratory services, and field upgrades.
- Partner with customers to understand their analytical workflows and applications.
- Adhere to installation, warranty, and service agreement standards.
- Contribute to account profitability through efficient service execution.
- Perform timely uploads/downloads of service data to maintain system integrity.
- Maintain assets such as tools, test equipment, telecommunication equipment, and inventory.
- Proactively develop technical and soft skills to enhance customer value.
- Report product improvements via quality notifications.
- Seek higher certifications through company-sponsored training.
- Complete administrative tasks like time reporting and training.
- Maintain safety, health, security, and environmental compliance.
Management may assign additional duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related, plus 5 years of relevant repair experience OR
- Associate degree plus 7 years of relevant experience OR
- High school diploma plus 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel as required, maintaining safe vehicle operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of analytical equipment and laboratory environments.
- Extensive travel (80% or more).
- Vendor certifications on laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices.
Working Environment
- Work in laboratory and controlled environments requiring PPE.
- Fast-paced with high demands.
- Ability to remain stationary over 25% of the time.
- Occasional movement between labs and buildings, lifting up to 25-50 pounds, and operating instruments requiring bending, squatting, and reaching.
- Visual and hazardous waste handling requirements.
- Potential need for Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing.
The annual compensation range is $56,500-$80,000, determined by experience, location, and skills.
