Job description

Volt is immediately hiring for a Field Service Technician- Controls (Allen Bradley/Siemens) in the Cincinnati, OH area. Candidates from the Midwest or Southeast USA along the I-75 corridor will be considered.

Location and travel info:

Cincinnati, OH and surrounding states

Working hours: Monday through Friday, with paid overtime as necessary to complete required tasks. Typically, you will be out away from home Monday-Friday and staying in hotels during the week.

Travel:

You will be issued a company truck or rental for travel to and from customers’ sites if necessary. Other times will require air travel and a rental car upon arrival. Some weeks leave Monday morning and return Friday evening. Paid travel time.

Responsibilities:
  • Travel to client locations
  • Complete troubleshooting, repairs, installations, retrofits, and upgrade performance to customer equipment
  • Work with automated industrial systems (troubleshooting and installs)
  • Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and rectify all problem areas on production equipment and related systems

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Required: Extensive experience working with Allen Bradley or Siemens controls, including PLC experience (Siemens HMI or Allen Bradley), programming (Ladder diagram, Structured text, Instruction list, modules), components (IO modules, safety circuits, drives, vision systems, HMIs), networks (Ethernet IP, ProfiNET, Profibus)
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in a technical field and 3+ years of related experience in controls/robotics, preferably as a Field Service Engineer or Technician
  • Understanding of injection mold machinery processes (plastics or foam industries)
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Pay:

$39-45/hour + daily per diem. The pay range offered will depend on education, experience, location, job duties, and certifications.
