Job summary

Skyways designs, builds, and operates autonomous long-range cargo aircraft. Skyways on-site field reps deploy, maintain, and repair aircraft to keep missions on schedule, often traveling internationally and working from Austin shop sites.

You’ll bring 3+ years of field aircraft/UAS experience, strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to read manuals and schematics. Expect travel up to 75%, lifting ~50 lbs, and rigorous documentation—relocation to Austin is available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintaining and supporting real aircraft or UAS in the field.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Safety-minded, self-directed, and calm when aircraft is down.
• Willingness to travel up to ~75%, incl. international trips; valid U.S. passport.

Responsibilities

• Deploy to customer sites as on-site representative and keep aircraft ready for missions.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mult-fuel power systems, batteries, motors, and controls.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, RF/datalink, and firmware issues in the field.
• Escalate unresolved issues to MRO/Engineering with clear context and drive resolution.
• Maintain logs, history, and configuration records daily.
• Set up new sites, validation flights, and handovers during redeployments.
• Manage on-site spares and AOG response to avoid mission grounding.
• Provide feedback to engineering to prevent repeat problems.
