Opportunity Summary
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing audiovisual, videoconferencing, and IT systems in the field. Working independently within guidelines, the FSE will interact with employees, customers, and colleagues, managing multiple tasks effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel extensively to client sites to support audiovisual, videoconferencing, and IT systems
- Diagnose and resolve system issues, manage service tickets proactively
- Repair systems, re-terminate cables, and provide remote support
- Configure and program equipment for various applications
- Coordinate with manufacturers and make repair or replacement recommendations
- Document activities, keep records up to date, and enter accurate timesheets
- Provide technical training and guidance to clients and staff
- Deliver professional customer service, building technical credibility
- Represent Cenero professionally with senior clients, demonstrating empathy and patience
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Coordinate activities with subcontractors, manufacturers, and internal teams
- Respond promptly to notifications and perform duties as a Technical Service Engineer when not in the field
- Respond to customer requests via phone, email, or video, documenting activities
- Produce accurate service quotes and maintain digital records
- Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- Minimum two years of related experience or training
- Knowledge of audiovisual and related systems (switchers, projectors, displays, etc.)
- Understanding of networking protocols (ISDN, Ethernet, SIP, H.320, H.323)
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, firewalls, AV over IP
- Proficiency with Windows and office software
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean record for at least 3 years
- Experience with audiovisual installation and certifications preferred
Certificates and Certifications
- CTS certification preferred
- Manufacturer-specific certifications (Biamp, QSC, Crestron, etc.) preferred
