Job description

Overall this individual will be performing on-site electrical distribution system evaluations and performing arc flash risk assessment calculations. Typical job activities will include supporting the sales team, working with clients to determine the appropriate arc flash solution, gathering electrical system data, and performing electrical engineering calculations. Responsible for coordinating and facilitating arc flash training and certifications. In addition, this senior level role will serve as a team Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting the broader team as an initial point of reference, and leading efforts of process improvement for greater efficiency in arc flash services. This position is home office based and is required to reside within (50) miles of a major metropolitan national airport. Lead role may supervise other field engineers.

Responsibilities

1. Perform electrical power system and engineering studies for our clients across all industries.
2. Assist sales team and communicate with clients regarding arc flash services offered.
3. Project manage assigned projects with customers from job kick-off through job close-out.
4. Evaluate documents and gather electrical data to create engineering study project proposals.
5. On-site electrical system assessments to document existing system configuration, equipment ratings, conductor lengths and ampacities, and overcurrent protective device information.
6. Perform power system studies including arc flash studies, short circuit coordination studies, and fault current studies.
7. Perform general and site-specific arc flash training for customers.
8. Perform arc flash audits and gap analysis, create customer reports, and communicate findings to customers.
9. Identify electrical code violations.
10. Create arc flash report (deliverables include arc flash labels, single-line diagrams, and recommendations to reduce incident energy).
11. Serve as SME (Subject Matter Expert) and trainer to internal personnel on arc flash safety, assessments, audits, and calculations.

Requirements

Willing to travel every other week meeting with customers. Home on weekends.

Engineering degree is a plus but not required. Will train the right person for the field work and arc flash software program.

Previous experience doing electrical field work or using SKM software is a plus.

Salary range $75k-$95k (DOE).

Remote position with ability to set your own travel schedule.
