Job summary

BD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site technical support for Pyxis automated dispensing systems in hospitals and healthcare facilities. The role requires diagnosing hardware/software issues, performing preventive maintenance, and installing and servicing systems within the assigned territory.

The position involves travel within the territory (Au-gusta-Waterville region in Maine) with occasional overnight travel and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of hardware/software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications.
• 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing/field service environment is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet BD safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems at hospitals and healthcare facilities within the territory.
• Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose, service, and resolve issues; log and track all activity.
• Implement preventive maintenance and provide limited cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams.
• Perform installations, in-servicing, repairs, calibrations, and other field service tasks.
• Maintain proper inventory and continue training to advance skillsets within 2–3 years.

**Home-based PART-TIME position with daily travel to customer sites in the Maine Region.The Field Service Engineer is a remote field-based position with daily travel locations within the assigned territory (Augusta-Waterville, Maine and surrounding region). Ideal candidates will reside within a 30-mile radius of where the position is based. 5% overnight travel possible and a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities:Provide on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems located within hospitals and other healthcare facilities within the territory and in accordance with our customer support agreements, best-in-class of DHA/DoD facilitiesRespond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose, service, and resolve issues regarding proprietary hardware and software system components, retain ownership of the work order, raise issues to the team lead and manager; log, track, and detail all work order activity, and be capable of fully supporting all products within the region.Implement a preventive maintenance program, provide limited cross-functional support for our Sales and Implementation teams, and other support activities as applicable to the roleDemonstrate a moderate use of proficiency and an appropriate ability to solve hardware and software problemsProvide efficient field services to all BD customers in a timely manner, including but not limited to installations, in-servicing, repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales supportMaintain proper and accurate small parts inventory for the purpose of service and follow approved policies and procedures for inventory controlsContinue training and self-development to learn the products and applications of the company for success in the role, advance skillsets, and attend management approved seminars and training sessions to advance to the next level in 2-3 yearsPossess and maintain a solid understanding of corporate and service department procedures and policies, including customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting.

Preferred Requirements:Prior experience working as a hospital pharmacy technician or in a hospital Bio-Med environment, a plusAssociates degreePrior military Bio-Med experience, a plusPrior Automated Teller Machine (ATM) experience, a plusUpon hire, must provide proof of and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform crucial job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox) Annual TB/PPD (skin test), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis, COVID-19.Weightlifting requirement: minimum 70 pounds
