Job summary

Worth, you will service Zygo metrology systems, nurture customer relationships, and help shape service strategies to ensure peak performance and safety. Ideal candidates hold an engineering-associated degree, have customer-facing and sales aptitude, and are willing to travel internationally (>50%).

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with Zygo metrology instruments at customer sites.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on Zygo equipment to maintain peak performance, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Develop and conduct comprehensive training sessions for internal teams, distributors, and customers.
  • Plan and manage installations at customer sites, including setup and integration of Zygo solutions.
  • Analyze recurring issues, report quality improvement opportunities, and identify hardware/software enhancements to optimize product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop application solutions and draft/translate technical and training documents, on-site assistance and contribute to new technologies development.

As a Field Service Engineer, based in Texas, in Dallas/Ft. Worth area, you will deliver top-tier service for ZYGO metrology instrumentation systems, foster strong customer relationships, and enhance service strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with Zygo metrology instruments at customer sites, collaborating closely with the technical support and R&D teams to ensure rapid resolution.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on Zygo equipment to maintain peak performance, accuracy, and reliability for customers.
  • Develop and conduct comprehensive training sessions for internal teams, distributors, and customers, empowering them to effectively use Zygo’s advanced metrology instruments.
  • Plan and manage installations at customer sites, including setup and integration of Zygo solutions, while providing full support during and after installation.
  • Analyze recurring issues, report quality improvement opportunities, and identify both hardware and software enhancements to optimize Zygo product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop application solutions, help draft and translate technical and training documents, on‑site assistance and contribute to new technologies development.
Requirements And Qualifications
  • Associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent education and experience
  • Relevant professional experience, ideally within metrology or optics
  • Strong customer service orientation and aptitude for sales, with proven experience in customer-facing roles
  • Willingness to travel internationally, with travel requirements exceeding 50% of the role
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving work environment and to remain composed under occasional high‑pressure situations
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision‑making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI‑generated outputs.
