Technology Service Corporation Defense Services is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Sierra Vista, AZ to support ISR programs on-site and collaborate with operators, maintainers, and engineers.

The role requires 5+ years in a technical field role, experience with ISR system integration and testing, and a SECRET clearance plus a US passport. Travel up to 25% is expected as essential to program success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years on-site technical field engineering (Group 3-5 RPA or related aircraft).
• ISR systems sustainment experience: avionics, communications, mission payloads or related subsystems with limited resources.
• Experience with initial integration and configuration of mission system hardware/software subsystems.
• Strong troubleshooting with test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Oscilloscope, and multimeter.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks according to project importance.
• Experience developing SOPs, system block diagrams, and subsystem integration/test plans.
• Willingness to change shifts to accommodate testing requirements.
• Ability to work with team members under time-sensitive constraints.
• Current SECRET clearance and US passport.

Job description

The successful candidate will serve as a Field Service Engineer based in Sierra Vista, AZ. The Field Service Engineer is a focal point to further enable the Division to satisfy direct customer projects aligned with the Division Manager's and Operations Manager's objectives.This position will satisfy Field Service Engineering responsibilities on site related to further establishing Field Service Engineering support services for several program related projects concurrently.This position serves as a technical bridge between engineering resources and operators/maintainers in the assigned portfolio while reporting to the Field Service Engineering Manager.Works to develop and mature standardization, program or site-specific requirements, and risk management strategies, enabling increased probability of success to deliver new technological deliverables within the approved scope.This role is pivotal to supporting the entire team's ability to grow the scope of available Products or Services with a variety of Industry Partners for a globally oriented market in a high-stakes environment. Travel up to 25% is required.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years directly serving in a technical role, on-site, as a Group 3-5 RPA or General Aviation Special Mission Aircraft Field Engineer
• Experience in all aspects of ISR systems operational sustainment; avionics, communication systems, mission payloads, or other related subsystems with limited resources
• Experience with initial integration and configuration of mission system hardware/software subsystems
• Strong understanding and application of using test equipment, for troubleshooting such as but not limited to: Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Oscilloscope, and multi-meter
• Independent ability to plan, prioritize, schedule, and organize multiple management tasks simultaneously according to the importance of projects or management tasks assigned
• Experience with developing standard operating procedures (SOP), system block diagrams, and subsystem integration and test plans
• Ability to change shifts to accommodate testing requirements
• Ability to work well with other team members under time-sensitive constraints
• Current SECRET level clearance
• Valid US passport

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in Field Engineering Support to RPA/UAS in a global enterprise
• Demonstrated technical expertise to ensure the Division's Field Engineering Services are executed, enabling the development, sustainment, and growth of technological deliverables
• BS in a Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
• Hands-on experience with software integration and testing: Windows and Linux operating systems
• Hands-on experience with managing/maintaining network architecture
• "First flight" field test planning and execution including mitigation of EMI/EMC through design or implementation techniques
• Experience within Initial Cadre Teams for Rapid Development and Technology transfer
• J-STD-001 Requirements for soldered electrical & electronic assemblies
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 Requirements & Acceptance of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
• Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
• Composite experience
