Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer, reporting to the Regional Manager Propulsion – North America. In this role, you will primarily work with various Kongsberg propulsion mechanical/hydraulic services, commissioning, and upgrades related to the product portfolio. The position requires availability to travel (domestic and international) to attend service and training on short notice, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake routine maintenance, repair, and commissioning work on Propulsion equipment according to maintenance contracts.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and work order requests to determine necessary steps for maintenance and repair.
  • Inspect, analyze, record calibration results, and produce Service and Technical Reports.
  • Create maintenance service records and recommendations for the Service Coordination team and customers.
  • Advise customers on additional propulsion products and service offerings for potential upgrades.
  • Support regional workshops as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a Technical Discipline, or at least three years of Propulsion Field Service experience in the Marine Industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Valid Passport and legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Availability to travel with short notice, including after hours, holidays, and weekends, for extended periods locally and internationally.

Work Location: Seattle, WA

Salary: $26 - $32/hr (eligible for overtime). The salary range is an estimate and may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors.
