Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Georgia to oversee quality installations, rebuilds, and maintenance of injection molding machinery. You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and lead reliability initiatives across NASP plants.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or 5+ years of equivalent experience, with extensive experience in injection molding equipment, and strong skills in read blueprints and CMMS

Responsibilities

• Provide Leadership and Strategic directions regarding Reliability & TPM implementation.
• Perform safety inspections and repairs on injection machinery as needed.
• Provide quality installations, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds of injection molding machinery; experience with Husky, Engel, Krauss Maffei, Milacron, Demag brands.
• Develop testing plans for injection equipment and apply engineering knowledge as needed.
• Create preventive maintenance plans for injection machinery.
• Offer technical advice or service for injection machinery onsite and verbally.
• Be proficient in injection machinery controls.
• May conduct training on operation and maintenance of injection machinery.
• Ensure injection machine performance across NASP plants.
• Maintain good customer relations and communications with plants and upper management.
• Recommend and procure critical spare parts.
• Lead and train less experienced maintenance technicians on similar projects.
• Design engineering solutions within budget to maximize equipment quality and efficiency.
• Assist in project scope, cost justification, and AFE preparation for senior management.
• Maintain awareness of cost, quality, scope and schedule to ensure on-time delivery; prepare progress reports.
• Lead or participate in engineering design reviews as required.
• Conduct R&D for integration and testing of injection machinery and new applications.
• Apply mechanical theory and testing to layout, build, test, troubleshoot and modify equipment.
• Collaborate with maintenance for preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Evaluate, select and coordinate with OEM and outside vendors for injection machinery design and installation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for quality installations, rebuilds, maintenance, and repairs to injection molding and metal packaging machinery. Breakdowns will require troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components and circuits. The Engineer is part of a team that is responsible for the direction of our division toward improved reliability and lowering our dependency on hourly labor and outside vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide Leadership and Strategic directions regarding the use of Reliability and TPM implementation
• Provide essential safety inspections and repairs on injection machinery as necessary
• Provide quality installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds of injection molding machinery. Specific experience with Husky, Engel, Krauss Maffei, Milacron, and Demag brands
• Develops plans for testing injection equipment while applying knowledge of engineering technology as necessary.
• Develops plans for preventative maintenance techniques and procedures for injection machinery
• Supply technical advice or service for all injection machinery onsite and verbally
• Must be proficient in injection machinery controls
• May conduct training in the operation and maintenance of injection machinery
• Assures injection machine performance at all plants in NASP
• Must be able to maintain good customer relations and communications with all plants and upper management
• Critical spare parts purchase recommendation and procurement
• Must be able to lead and train less experienced maintenance technicians when assigned to similar projects
• Designs engineering solutions that meet the manufacturing facilities' requirements while monitoring budget constraints to maximize production equipment quality and efficiency.
• Assists in the preparation of the scope of a project, cost justification, and AFE (overall cost proposal) to senior management for approval as required.
• Maintains awareness of and controls project cost, quality, scope, and schedule to ensure on-time delivery of projects within internal budgets. Prepares any necessary progress reports.
• Leads or participates in engineering design reviews as required and requested by Management.
• Conducts R & D activities concerned with the integration and testing of injection machinery and the development of new applications.
• Applies mechanical theory, mechanical testing procedures, and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production of injection molding machinery equipment.
• Works with the maintenance department to ensure preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Evaluates, selects, and coordinates with OEM and outside vendors for design, fabrication, and installation/repair of injection machinery.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience working on injection machinery
• Experience with hydraulics, controls, electrical systems, and mechanical systems
• Extensive experience with injection molding machinery required
• Proven mechanical and electrical skills required and ability to read mechanical blueprints, hydraulic, and electrical schematics
• Extensive (90% or more) out-of-town travel is necessary
• Strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, & Project)
• Experience with CMMS systems
• Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills
