Job summary

Fluence Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site service, startup, and installation supervision for municipal water and wastewater equipment. You will troubleshoot technical issues, perform repairs, and ensure customer satisfaction through proactive service and clear communication.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years experience in field service or a technical role, with knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, and proficiency in Excel and ERP tools.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years in a similar role or technical field.
  • Experience with equipment installation and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency with Excel and ERP reporting.
  • Willing to travel throughout the US; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Verify installation and configuration of equipment at field locations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Document service and repair activities.
  • Provide technical training and support to customers.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and tools.
  • Ensure safety and company policy compliance.
  • Manage service schedules and priorities.
  • Start up newly installed equipment and systems; adjust PLC programming.

TheField Service Technician will be responsible for providing on-site service, maintenance, start up and installation supervision of equipment for our Municipal Water and Wastewater business. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service.

What you will do as a Field Service engineer:
  • Verify correct installation and configuration, of equipment at various field locations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Document all service and repair activities.
  • Provide technical training and support to customers.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage service schedules and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Perform start up of newly installed equipment and systems. Including PLC programming adjustments and system dial in to meet contractual performance requirements.

Who you are and what you bring to the table:
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role or technical field, including experience with equipment installation and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in the use of work management software and reporting (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
  • Familiarity with field service management tools and systems and a basic understanding of the company's products or services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Availability to travel throughout the US frequently
  • Valid driver's license
Expectations to be Successful in Role:
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the broader organization, strategic plan and overall direction of the company.
  • Complete start up of water treatment equipment and systems while meeting customer expectations.
  • Maintains a focus on the quality o f the company product offering in the field, and customer relationship.
